The majestic pyramids of Egypt, the privileged burial places of the pharaohs, defy time and conquer the visitor from the heights of their 4 millennia of history, transporting him to an Otherworld populated by divinities that can be seen in the ancient tombs of the necropolis scattered throughout the Valley. Travelling along the course of the River Nile in the Middle Egyptian region, one encounters the ancient capital of the ‘heretic’ ruler Akhenaton, who imposed the cult of a single god, and then the spectacular temples of Seti I at Abydos and the Ptolemaic temple at Dendera, until reaching Luxor.
Through ‘Middle Egypt’, a region stretching between Cairo and Luxor and little explored, in a journey that cannot fail to impress and surprise for the variety of sites and historical and archaeological testimonies of marvellous beauty that tell the long history of the country, from the dawn of the pharaonic civilisation to the era of Coptic Christianity.
