If in Djenné it is the imposing façade of its mud mosque that dominates the lives of its inhabitants, at Pays Dogon it is the massive profile of the Bandiagara crag that looms over the animist villages.

A 250 km long rock snake, where the Dogon have taken refuge for centuries, building their homes in the most remote ravines, sheltered from dangers and incursions. A timeless suspended world, clinging to their traditions, a true wealth of these magical peoples, who manage to make even the most impervious and barren corner fertile. A multi-day trek to reach the most unreachable peaks and the most hidden and sacred rifts to the animist religion, between sacred ceremonies and propitiatory mask dances, where the courts of the old wise men to regulate community life and where the hogon of the hogon, the wise of all the wise men, still lives isolated in its clay palace, among its protective totems.
