Visiting a weekly market with its incessant vortex of noise, colors and smells is an experience that embodies all the essence of Mali.

Markets are the most representative example of Malian multiculturalism, a unique concentration of cultures and merchandise, as many as the ethnic groups that live there. For photography lovers, the market is an inexhaustible source of ideas, to the point of vertigo: Peuhl nomads with sticks and hats sell their rams, Tuareg above theirs Camels carry salt bars, Dogon elders offer their natural remedies and fetishes, Bambara burly women trade dressings as colorful as their clothes, Bozo girls display fish dried, while donkey-drawn carts, overloaded with anything, make their way through the crowd.
